Purpose of Job
Build and maintain strong relationships with direct reports. Provide team leadership and staff development/mentoring. The Team Leader position is a function, in addition to an employee’s substantive technical/project contribution role.
Essential Functions
Develop the team’s skills and experience through appropriate training development, mentoring and guidance Review and monitor staff to ensure that performance objectives are being met, staff are engaged, and performance issues are managed promptly Support the Group Leader with monitoring and reporting on the performance of the Group Understand and coordinate the team workload, resourcing, and outputs in conjunction with the Group Leader and other TLs in the Group. Coordinate resource and technical development requirements with ADLs, local Technical Leaders (Discipline) and Team Leaders/Group Leaders based both locally and in other Australian Offices Participate in projects as either Project Manager, Task Manager or other substantive technical or delivery role. Ensure all team members have a clear path towards formal registration/chartered Status (in specialty field), where appropriate. Be responsible for team utilisation by effective forecasting, networking, business development and delegation and development of backlog, in conjunction with the Group Leader and other Group TLs. Other duties as reasonably required.The Team Leader is not a stand-alone position, it is a series of value-adding duties (on top of a substantive position) with an expectation that the duties will take, on average, up to no more than 4-8 hours per week. The person’s substantive position in their Group and Business Centre does not change. Compensation is predominantly based on their substantive position and is reviewed in accordance with Company Policy.
