ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or chips. We utilize Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to ensure the optimal environmental conditions of the optical components in its machines to maximize output, expand lifetime and minimize service intervals.
Your AssignmentWithin the Flow Modelling community at ASML, we would like to explore Reduced Order Model (ROM) techniques applied to data derived from CFD in multiphase flows. This internship assignment aims to investigate the physics of the problem and generate data in a structured and organized way.
You tasks and responsibilities may include:
Define a comprehensive Design of Experiment (DOE);
Create a corresponding CFD model and perform calculations;
Extract data and analyze results;
Create first ROM with an existing application;
Document your findings and present results.
This is a bachelor or master internship, suitable for both an apprenticeship and a graduation (thesis) project. The desired duration is 6 months or more, working 5 days a week (3 days onsite). The start date is as soon as possible or at the latest around September 2025.
Your ProfileTo be a match for this internship, you:
Are a bachelor or master student in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering;
Have experience in network modeling for fluid flow system;
Preferably have experience in starCCM+ or with using High Performance Cluster;
Preferably have an affinity with Data Analytics;
Have strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mentality;
Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Other requirements you need to meet
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
