**Job Title: Mechanical HVAC Estimator** **Job Description** An Islip-based contractor is looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team. The company specializes in commercial MEP projects, including large-scale endeavors such as hospitals, high-rises, and hotels. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial MEP construction sector. **Responsibilities** + Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates. + Collaborate with project managers and other team members to understand project scope and requirements. + Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and cost estimates. + Perform quantity take-offs and develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment. + Participate in pre-bid meetings, occasional site visits, and client presentations. + Monitor project costs and provide ongoing support to project managers during the construction phase. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of experience in estimating, specifically in MEP construction. + 5+ years of experience in large-scale commercial construction projects. + Proficiency in performing take-offs. + Experience with estimate writing. + Knowledge of estimating software. + Understanding of building automation systems. + Familiarity with the Autodesk suite. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with Building Automation Systems is a plus. + No specific estimating software is required, but familiarity is beneficial. **Why Work Here?** This company offers a vibrant work culture with fun company outings such as union events and BBQs.
