PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Mechanical Field Engineer at Worley is a key contributor to the successful execution of construction projects by providing on-site engineering expertise, ensuring alignment with design specifications, and facilitating seamless communication between project teams. This role plays an essential part in bridging engineering designs with real-world construction site conditions to deliver sustainable and high-quality project outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Interpret and analyze engineering designs, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and feasibility of execution. Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution. Provide on-site technical expertise and resources during construction phases, addressing any design modifications or adjustments required to meet site conditions. Oversee construction supervision activities, ensuring that work is executed in accordance with approved plans and specifications. Make independent technical decisions for smaller projects and studies while considering financial, social, and environmental impacts within the company framework. Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks of completed construction tasks to ensure alignment with design specifications and industry best practices. Participate in regular project meetings to provide construction progress updates, address technical challenges, and propose viable solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient coordination of construction activities, resource allocation, and timely project completion. Maintain accurate documentation of construction activities, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings. Identify potential risks or issues that could impact project timelines or deliverables and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to construction processes, procedures, and standards within Worley. Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering professional development within the team.#LI-JS4
*QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET
University degree, or equivalent, in a related engineering field, or a relevant trade qualification combined with further industry-specific training and experience. Proven experience in a Field Engineer role, preferably within the mechanical discipline or in the Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) sector. Strong understanding of construction principles, methodologies, and best practices. Proficiency in interpreting engineering designs, blueprints, and technical specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed technical decisions. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of safety regulations, industry codes, and applicable construction standards. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and coordinate across disciplines. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality and accurate work. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel to construction sites as required. Familiarity with project management software tools is an advantage.#LI-JS4
