Welcome to the role of Mechanical Field Technician II. In this position, you will provide hands-on mechanical support for a wide range of projects as they progress from concept to installation. The projects vary greatly and consist of anything from custom electromechanical equipment, structures, and robotics, to workstations or equipment mounting. This individual will work in conjunction with engineers and project managers as assigned. The work will be performed mainly in the shop and at customer sites as needed.

 

This individual possesses a working understanding of mechanical principles and requires an aptitude and willingness for hands-on work in the shop or field. This position must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include travel and overtime as needed.

What You'll Do Perform assembly, troubleshooting, prototyping, and light fabrication in shop and field settings Collaborate with Project Managers and other Engineering personnel to organize tools and materials and plan for assembly and installationIdentify potential issues and opportunities for Change Orders and communicate with Project Managers and other Engineering personnelInterpret mechanical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and productsMaintain tool organizationProvide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue Develop and execute quality control and project check lists Learn to view designs and navigate 3D/2D CAD softwareTrain and mentor Mechanical Field Technician I'sProvide feedback for performance reviews as needed
