Positions are available for mechanical engineers with 4 to 8 years of experience in fueling systems or other related industrial type systems.

Burns McDonnell is considered the leading consultant in the aircraft fueling industry. We are engaged in high visibility projects at major airports and military bases worldwide. Additionally, the fueling business line executes projects for aviation, federal, transport truck and car rental clients, including marine loading facilities, pipeline terminals, truck loading facilities and commercial gasoline stations.

A successful candidate would be experienced in design and construction in one or more of the following industries: Commercial or Military Fuel Systems, Oil Gas, Water/Wastewater, or Industrial Systems.

Experience in the following areas would be of high value:

Airport fuel receipt, storage, and distribution facilities Jet fuel hydrant distribution systems Pipeline and transport truck fuel receipt systems Jet fuel storage tanks Into-hydrant pumping and filtration systems Refueler truck loading positions Aircraft hydrant fuel systems Single and double-wall fuel piping Familiarity with relevant industry standards including ATA 103, API 610, API 650, API 653, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, NFPA 30, and NFPA 11 Creation of PIDs and mechanical system control arrangements Layout of equipment pad and valve manifolds Piping system hydraulic modeling Piping system stress analysis
