We are seeking a General Laborer to join our team located at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, VA. This position is responsible for performing tasks that involve physical labor at a construction site using hand and power tools of all types. This position may also assist other craft workers in their duties, while also cleaning and preparing sites, cleaning up rubble and debris, and removing other non-hazardous waste materials. In addition, this position may operate one or several types of power construction equipment. This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. RQ Construction believes in the growth and development of our employees, so on the job training and certifications are provided per the projects needs for safety, equipment operations, etc. Prevailing wages will be paid for work performed on a military installation.\n
Pay: $20.00-25.00 per hour\n

Qualifications are as follows:\n\nA high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position. \nOne or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience in commercial construction required; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred. \nCPR and First Aid Certifications preferred; Specific training or certificates in the following preferred:\n\nForklift\/Manlift training and certificate\nFall protection training\nScissor lift\/boom lift certificate\nOSHA 10-hour\n\n\n\n
