We are looking for a resourceful Mechanical/Industrial Engineer that is safety and quality conscious and willing to learn and grow with the business. This is a role where you will work in a TEAM environment where safety always comes first. This position is an on-site position at our Alexandria facility.

The Mechanical/Industrial Engineer will be analyzing supply chain procedures, recommending, and implementing improvements, formulating component manufacturing specifications and performing design analysis by collecting, inspecting, cleaning, sorting, and processing data into relevant information to aid decision making and interpret market research to determine profitable product ideas. Therefore, data analysis skills are integral to the role. To ensure success as a Mechanical/Industrial Engineer for supply chain you should exhibit extensive knowledge of business operations and experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.

JOB DUTIES:

To ensure success, the Mechanical/Industrial engineer is accountable for developing new suppliers to assist in meeting material cost savings goals. They will identify and work with potential suppliers and third-party engineering firms to design and test products. The Mechanical/Industrial engineer is also responsible for formulating component manufacturing specifications and performing design analysis to ensure all products meet industry standards and guidelines. The supply chain engineer should exhibit extensive knowledge of business operations and experience in heavy industrial manufacturing. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Look for cost effective ways to develop new suppliers and products by evaluating costs and seeking more economical alternatives and develop solutions to production issues to optimize the process and ensure cost effectiveness.Document all activity during the development stage of components, perform tests for performance analysis and documentBuild and maintain strong, collaborative relationships and keep abreast of developments in supply chain engineeringCollaborate with finance, procurement, and manufacturing teams to determine the best potential vendors and distributorsMaintain strong project management skills to manage a project from start to finish within certain constraints. It includes budgeting, scheduling, setting goals, creating timelines, and accountability. The product development cycle involves various phases that are the responsibility of the Supply chain Engineer.Establish quality control measures with the QA team to ensure compliance with industry standards and maintain compliance with these measures with all design team members. Where necessary, create guidelines to guarantee the protection and safety of colleagues.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or Industrial),  or related field from an accredited college or university5 or more years’ experience in manufacturing supply chain & logisticsExperience leading continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferredRegulated industry experience required FRA and AAR experience strongly preferredCPSM, ISM or other certifications preferredPrevious experience in a national heavy industrial manufacturing business preferred.Experience building relationships and developing international suppliers with an emphasis on raw material, components and servicesExperience with factory support and improving sustaining operationsStrong analytical skills, emotional intelligence, organizational skills and presentations skills
