Job Description

Perform in-process inspections according to engineering drawings, blueprints, related specifications, and workmanship standards prior to shipping parts to customers.

ResponsibilitiesReview documentation accompanying jobs submitted to inspection by Machining and Sheet Metal Operations and verify proper completion of prior process steps.Resolve documentation issues prior to releasing product to Shipping.Determine appropriate sample size based on customer requirements, risks, lessons learned, and established sampling procedures.Perform visual and mechanical inspection of products according to drawing requirements and applicable specifications using appropriate inspection tools.Perform complex dimensional feature inspection tasks.Operate various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, 'Go/No-Go' gauges, and all necessary inspection gauges and devices.Make 'Accept' or 'Reject' decisions based on inspection results and document non-conformances in appropriate forms and computerized databases.Work closely with production operators and leaders to identify causes for rejection and recommend corrective steps.Ensure personal safety and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.Identify and report risks associated with processes, products, procedures, people, infrastructure, or environment.Contribute innovative ways to improve department processes to increase quality and efficiency.Essential SkillsProficient understanding of mechanical blueprint symbols and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance principles.High school diploma or equivalent.3 years of experience in mechanical inspection and measurement.Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
