Job DescriptionThe primary role of the Mechanical inspector will be to ensure the Mechanical systems and equipment are installed correctly. You will be responsible for inspection, witness of testing, and evaluating mechanical/electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with local standards, contract specifications, and all safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Check installations of static equipment, coating, painting, piping, electrical systems, etcReview installation to ensure compliance with construction drawingsEnsure installation has adequate space with operation and maintenance considerationsInspect pressure vessels, storage tanks etc and ensure safety devices are properly installedActive role in technical discussions with contractors and equipment suppliersWitness the commissioning of rotating and non-rotating equipmentProper record keeping of all inspection/witness activities carried outPerform inspection for defects clearing.Ensure defects are cleared before signing offCarry out other inspection/witness activities as assigned.QualificationsDiploma/Degree in Mechanical or relevant fieldMinimum of 10 years of experience in similar role with Power, Petrochemical plant or heavy industries projectsKnowledge of MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel)Good interpersonal and communication skillsAble to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility Able to work as a teamExperience in handling EPC contractors and equipment suppliers will be an advantage.Experience with inspection of coating, painting, welding etc will be an advantage.Additional InformationAbout AECOM
