Job Description

Mechanical Integration Tech II exists to support the integration project leader in the complete mechanical assembly of SPA-engineered systems, in support of SPA’s corporate mission, goals, and guiding principles.

The Mechanical Integration Tech II works both alone as well as with assigned mechanical integration technicians. Mechanical Integration Tech II is responsible for the complete and thorough system assembly. Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining all details and mechanical purchase items called out on all mechanical unit bill of materials, and assigning priorities, and tasks to assigned technicians.

 Duties and responsibilities 

Training new mechanics Assign build tasks to assigned technicians Checking in all build details, custom-designed details, and purchase items via mechanical engineering bill of material. Verify all build components are accounted for and organized Maintaining an active list of any items missing from the mechanical bill of material(s) daily. Completing transfers for batch-build items using both Magic and the purchasing-112 form. Ordering all bolts not in the SPA stock system for assigned projects System layout on the integration floor Ensuring robots are placed in the correct configuration utilizing controls drawing layout Maintaining a neat and orderly area around all assigned systems Completing torque sheets for all areas of the system that call out specific torque requirements Complete comprehensive system checks at an internal run-off Overall system cleanliness Tear down and packaging of assigned systems verifying all duct and loose components are accounted for. Loading system and miscellaneous pallets trucks, ensuring all system components are loaded and drivers are protecting all painted surfaces. Ensuring all mechanical system changes are relayed to engineering using the red-line process

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years machine-build experience High School Diploma/GED Valid Driver’s License Possess or be willing and able to get a passport for international travel Possess your own tools. Self-motivated Ability to read engineered build drawings The ability and willingness to train team members as to the proper build techniques. Must have general computer skills Must have strong communication skills Must be able to use Microsoft Office and other Microsoft Office programs Must possess Strong organizational skills Ability to identify and work through mechanical build issues and turn in required documentation An ability to work with other departments and communicate issues in a professional manner. Flexibility to work off shifts including nights as required Possess the ability to oversee multiple projects to their completion Possess or be willing and able to get a passport for international travel Must be willing to travel out of state and internationally via land or air

Physical requirements

Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks may be required Must have manual dexterity Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. May be required to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electrical/electronic components. Must wear safety glasses and safety boots Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and perform moderate lifting. Must be able to sit for long periods of time traveling to and from the job site
