WestRock's West Point paper mill is seeking an hourly Mechanical Maintenance Technician with the ability to provide primary millwright skills for the West Point Mill.

 

How you will impact WestRock: 

Participate in all department safety programs. Flexibility to work in a multi-craft role and contribute to accomplishing results in a team- based environment. Good understanding of the types and application of equipment lubrication. Effective troubleshooting abilities. Ability to read and understand equipment manuals & drawings. Ability to properly document repairs and inspections. Computer skills adequate to look up bill of materials & stores parts, enter work results, and complete work orders. Good working knowledge of rigging equipment and techniques.Ability to measure, lay out, and fabricate repair parts. 

 

What you need to succeed:

For a Class 1 Helper: 

Five years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman mechanic’s level, or Two-year technical degree in mechanical technology, or four years’ relevant technical military experience Exceptional communication skills and the ability and willingness to work shift work. 

 

For a Class A Journeyman: 

Ten years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman mechanics or electrician/instrumentation level - or Five years of relevant industrial or military experience and a two-year technical degree Exceptional communication skills and the ability and willingness to work shift work.
