Eligible for up to $35 per month for monthly fitness memberships.Annual gainshare up to 10 percent of earningsThe Mechanical Packaging Technician is responsible for building, maintaining and repairing our packaging machines, such as a tray pack HSCs and DRCs. This position will service PCA's customers in the Wenatchee and surrounding areas as needed along with three other mechanics. A company vehicle for making service calls and cellphone will be provided to the incumbent along with the competitive compensation and benefits package. The hourly rate for this position is $25 - $34.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform a variety of tasks to design, manufacture, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical and electrical components on packaging equipment both at our facility and customer locations nationwide.Work as part of a team in a manufacturing/production operations with a goal of increasing productivity, reducing downtime and waste.Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.Work with a sense of urgency to reduce client downtime.Develop a close relationship with customers to aid in process of becoming preferred supplier.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.One-year steady work history in a maintenance role and/or technical certification.Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.Ability to work on call, weekends and overtime as required.Ability to troubleshoot and repair of mechanical and/or electrical equipment.Proper general maintenance and troubleshooting practices.Knowledge of pneumatic systems.Must have good interpersonal skills, planning and organizing skills, ability to work independently, and a high degree of self-motivation.Good verbal and written communication skills.Good computer skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, tables, charts, etc.Demonstrated ability to read technical service literature and accurately follow instructions provided.Must be willing to pursue ongoing technical training to enhance capabilities.Must be able to occasionally travel in USA and Canada
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2 to 5 years of practical application experience in mechanical, electrical and pneumatic maintenance functions.2+ years of experience in successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and/or technical degree in related field.Experience with common local box machines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to acquire and/or retain a multi-craft skill set. The candidate must be able to acquire the skills of mechanic, electrician and machinist via on job training or institutional learning.Willingness and ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with coworkers and customers.Ability to work alone and in a team environment.Willingness and ability to work in environments with varying temperatures. Must be capable of recognizing sounds of moving equipment and machinery for safety purposes and identifying machine issues.
