Job Description
As a Mechanical Piping Designer, you will be responsible for performing design duties on assigned projects involving process, service and utility piping, supports, HVAC, equipment layout, and other mechanically related tasks. You will assist the project manager in developing bids, proposals, estimates, scopes of work, schedules, material lists, design concepts, design drawings, correspondence, scope change submittals, and other project documentation per customer and corporate requirements.
ResponsibilitiesPerform design duties on assigned projects involving process, service and utility piping, supports, HVAC, equipment layout, and other mechanically related tasks.Assist project manager in developing bids, proposals, estimates, scopes of work, schedules, material lists, design concepts, design drawings, correspondence, scope change submittals, and other project documentation.Perform field work and technical research.Maintain project files and documentation.Certify accuracy and completeness of all deliverable products and services in assigned areas of responsibility.Maintain scope, schedule, and budget in assigned areas of responsibility.Provide guidance and assistance to subordinate staff members on day-to-day matters.Essential SkillsProficiency in piping design.Experience with Plant 3D.Knowledge of HVAC design.Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D design, mechanical, piping, and CAD design.Experience in a heavy industrial field.Additional Skills & QualificationsWorking knowledge and exposure to Plant 3D.Experience as a pipefitter in the field.2+ years of experience in piping/HVAC design.Work Environment
You will spend 80% of your time in the office and 20% performing field visits. The office has 100 employees and is expected to grow to 115. Most work is with heavy industrial clients in Virginia. The work environment is very stable. The dress code is business casual, and the standard work schedule is Monday through Friday. The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00
