Job Description

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer in Terre Haute, IN to assist with mechanical and electrical components, equipment, and manufacturing technology. This role involves leading safety initiatives, managing project documentation, overseeing purchasing, handling project logistics, and providing engineering support.

ResponsibilitiesAct as a safety leader by complying with all safety rules, policies, regulations, and procedures, participating in safety programs, and encouraging employee involvement in safety activities.Address customer needs by identifying problems and safety concerns, developing and evaluating alternate solutions to define project scope.Coordinate project documentation by preparing and assembling the engineering package/project documentation for assigned projects.Manage purchasing services by reviewing potential vendors, contacting them, coordinating with the Purchasing Department, issuing purchase orders, negotiating prices, and expediting delivery.Handle project logistics by coordinating project costs, scheduling, and communications for projects of varying scope and responsibilities.Procure materials by determining required materials, reviewing potential vendors, issuing purchase requisitions, and expediting delivery.Ensure equipment safety and compliance by interfacing with people, departments, and companies to ensure equipment is safe, made on schedule, and meets specifications.Assist with installations by coordinating or assisting with installation, checkout, start-up, and training as necessary.Provide engineering support by troubleshooting plant issues that maintenance cannot resolve.Participate in continuous improvement by actively engaging in Continuous Improvement projects and leading teams.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.3-6 years of experience within a manufacturing setting.3+ years of experience managing capital projects.Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally with project engineering teams, process engineering teams, and outside vendors.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in plastics packaging manufacturing.Familiarity with controls and automation.Work Environment

The work environment is a clean, well-lit facility, but it is not climate controlled. The typical shift for engineers is 7 AM - 4 PM Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work expected depending on project demand. Flexibility in working hours is provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $55.29
