As a Mechanical Project Engineer in our Overland Park, KS office, you will help us empower our clients to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing power industry through design and improvement of mechanical systems for all types of facilities and generation technologies including reciprocating engines, simple and combined cycle combustion turbines, combined heat & power (CHP), solar, wind and energy storage systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for engineering design process on assigned projects within a particular discipline.  You will develop innovative and unique engineering solutions to align with project, client, and project partner’s needs, and leads the discipline team in implementing the solutions.

Qualifications

Expertise of our most successful Mechanical Project Engineer:

BSME, BSAE, BSChE, or other engineering discipline with applicable experience.15+ years of design experience in the consulting engineering industry for utility power plants, process/manufacturing facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, or governmental facilities.Experience with communicating with clients, partners, and individuals at all levels within an organization.

Effective skills to help you flourish:

Effective knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and commonly used design concepts, codes, practices, and procedures.Experience in researching, compiling, and presenting project data for client presentations, shop drawing review and contract administration as requested by the project managers.Experience with ASME B31 piping codes.Professional Engineering License (PE) in one or more states.Proficiency in computer operation for engineering design such as MS Excel, MS Word, and Bluebeam.Strong spoken and written communications skills.Excellent organization and time management skills.Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.Effective working individually and within team environments. Software experience for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Plant 3D, AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, CAESAR II, or similar software) is preferred.Field engineering experience for construction and commissioning is a plus but not required.
