Mechanical Powertrain Cell Group Leader

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to effectively work with or lead ABB mechanical project team through the acquisition and execution cycle for ABB Robotic Cell, Powertrain, Electric Vehicle Assembly, Final Trim and Assembly (FTA) and FlexWasher based systems. Responsibility includes planning, designing, and modifying machinery, equipment, and products as well as customer interface and effectively translating project inputs into deliverable documented requirements that meet or exceed all stakeholder project expectations.The work model for the role is: #LI - HybridThis role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Robotics division in Auburn Hills, MI. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers.You will be mainly accountable for:- Under general guidance of supervisor or more experienced engineer, perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices. - Main customer interface on technical issues (mechanical and process focused). - Actively plan and lead mechanical project engineering and design activities for respective project. - Enforce adherence to established ABB and customer specifications. - Actively lead engineering tasks and resources to maintain project schedule and budget requirements.\t

Qualifications for the role

2 - 5 years in the Process and Automation field. Proven track record in the Automation, High Pressure/Deburr Washer or Electric Vehicle Assembly field as a project / process engineer.Design experience with Robotic End of Arm Tools, Powertrain/EV Assembly Machines and FTA and/or automotive part fixtures. Proven track record working in cross-function project team which includes internal and external resources.Proven ability to build strong customer relationships through demonstrating technical expertise in the Automation, Powertrain/EV Assembly or High Pressure/Deburr Washer field.AutoCAD 2024, SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, R&M / Quality training, solid problem-solving skills, and career development in the automotive industryPLM / PDM, Alternative 3D CAD packages, Microsoft Project, and SAP preferred.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
