What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: As a Mechanical Reliability Engineer, you will be instrumental in improving both reliability and sustainability. An excellent opportunity to demonstrate your ability to provide technical guidance, communicate effectively, influence, persuade, & negotiate, as well as prove your familiarization with analytical tools/software and knowledge of SAP. The role is located in Freeport, TX.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Driving sustainable reliability performance by using the most appropriate and effective tools and techniques that affect culture, work process, and equipment systems.

Providing technical support to Production and Maintenance personnel in the areas of Criticality Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analyses, Maintainability Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects (FMEA), Life Cycle Equipment Management Process/Equipment Care Strategies.

Monitoring and creating KPI data for early/predictive identification and resolution of reliability issues.

Leading the sites Mechanical Bad Actor Program to develop and implement sustainable solutions to optimize cost and improve asset effectiveness.

Developing equipment repair procedures and specifications necessary to improve plant and equipment reliability and supporting of all EH&S policies and procedures.

Collaborating with Production and Maintenance personnel providing training and services related to operation, design review, repair, and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities.

Providing technical support for the troubleshooting of problems and optimization of risk-based PM and PdM programs. 

Leading culture change and promote continuous improvement by employing LEAN Manufacturing tools through Six Sigma methodology. 

Performing root cause analyses of equipment failures and developing/implementing corrective actions to address findings.

Ideal Background

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university is required.  

Registration: Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.  

Experience: Requires 6+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical engineering.

Experience with formal reliability programs such as TPM, RCM, RCFA and experience developing, reviewing, and implementing strategic preventive and predictive maintenance programs and procedures.

Familiar with rotating equipment installation and predictive maintenance methods.

Possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

Possess computer skills to include CMMS software (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office suite of products. 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
