Mechanical Reliability Engineer
Are you a problem-solver with a passion for innovation and hands-on mechanical work in an industrial environment? We're looking for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer who thrives on tackling challenges, improving operations, and delivering projects that enhance performance and efficiency.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing equipment installations, facility modifications, and ensuring the smooth operation of our plant’s mechanical and hydraulic systems. You’ll lead projects from development through to completion, working closely with contractors and cross-functional teams to meet budgets and exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to troubleshoot and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems across the facility. Drive continuous improvement efforts on plant equipment, identifying and implementing enhancements. Utilize your expertise in large baghouse systems to ensure smooth operations and compliance. Prepare detailed specifications for project bids, evaluate contractors, and negotiate contracts. Estimate, schedule, and oversee projects to ensure timely, on-budget completion. Interface with contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success. Assist the Director of Steelmaking Technology on specialized projects and initiatives. Lead various projects, including potential travel both locally and internationally. Maintain strict adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Foster collaboration and teamwork, working effectively with colleagues at all levels. Ensure consistent attendance and performance, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
What You Bring:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Experience: At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in the steel or heavy industry. Environmental experience is a plus.
