Description:
Hire Resolves Client is currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join their opencast mining operations in Port Shepstone, KZN

Responsibilities:

Ensure proper management of the work cycle, including maintenance schedules, work orders, and breakdown reviews. Optimize labor utilization within the engineering department. Monitor and manage costs, including budgets and Capex, and address variances. Exhibit strong leadership and people management abilities. Maintain discipline in addressing condition monitoring reports and correcting deviations. Minimize repeat breakdowns by enforcing thorough investigations. Reduce breakdown repair times (MTTR). Establish and maintain an efficient and functional standby roster. Promote best practices for housekeeping in areas with installed machinery. Manage risks effectively during maintenance activities. Drive compliance and accountability during shutdown management. Conduct Root Cause Analysis to address process deviations.

Requirements:

Grade 12 Degree/Diploma/N6 in Mechanical Engineering 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Superintendent/Equivalent Extensive experience in opencast mining GCC Mines & Works would be advantageous Valid Driver’s License
