Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Development Engineer will work to develop new products that meet performance, quality, safety, and market requirements. Key responsibilities include full system and operations expertise of Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP), define product requirements to manufacturing suppliers, Mechanical product support on new product development projects and legacy products. This role will entail working in a cross functional team with project managers, product managers, electrical engineers, and software engineers.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical expert on Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems in our portfolioInvestigate and develop new and existing heat pump, air conditioning, and refrigeration technologiesSupport business units with the development of heat pump productsDevelop technical product specification and requirementsEnsure product meets all legal, safety, and compliance regulationsHands on prototyping development and verification testingNoise and vibration analysis - airflow, fans, blowersSystem optimization and performance testingData analysis of testing results and root cause analysisEnsuring required certification for product complianceQualificationsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field3 years of experience in Mechanical EngineeringPreferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in heat pump and air conditioning technologies as applied to Heat Pump and AC equipment and systems, electro-mechanical and direct digital control circuits, electrical circuits, blowers, and motorsBasic understanding of thermodynamics and engineering fundamentalsFamiliarity with applicable UL safety standards UL-60335-2-40 and UL-484 and AHRI performance standards AHRI 210/240, AHRI 600, AHRI 1380Certified PEProficiency to learn about new technology and adapt to new situationsMotivated self-starter, results drivenExcellent oral and written communication skillsAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
