Job Summary
In this role, the Mechanical Systems Engineer provides technical expertise and advocacy for system maintenance and operation in Davis-Besse Nuclear Steam Supply and balance of plant systems. This position works with guidance from the supervisor to prepare and present routine reports and occasionally lead routine problem-solving efforts. The position will maintain effective working relationships with others.Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
Champion equipment reliability for assigned plant systemsPerform field walkdowns and inspections of plant equipmentTrend system parameters and monitor performanceEstablish predictive and preventative maintenance tasksLead the development of solutions to system issues in support of plan operations and maintenanceAdvocate for system maintenance and design changes through applicable station committees and processesInterface with internal and external stakeholders to resolve emergent and routine plant issuesSupport problem identification and resolution in accordance with the corrective action programSupport problem solving and decision-making teams and simple troubleshooting effortsPerformance failure modes analyses and equipment failure analysis checklistsSupport emergent plant outages and scheduled refueling outagesProvide oversight of vendor activitiesInterface with regulatory, industry and internal oversight agenciesDetermine applicably of industry operating experience and incorporate into site processesReview schedules and work orders to ensure accurate and efficient work implementationSupport industry working groups and industry driven equipment reliability initiativesComplete periodic site, industry and regulatory performance indicatorsPerform ERO duties as assignedEducation, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Nuclear) from an accredited program. Mechanical focus preferredMinimum 2 years related job experiencePrior professional-level engineering experience preferredExcellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to make formal technical presentations to various levels in the organizationMS Office proficiencyDemonstrated dependability through consistent product of high-quality work within deadlinesKey Metrics:
Teamwork and collaboration skills within the team/departmentEffective written and verbal communication skills.Maintain effective working relationships within the team/departmentBasic understanding of power generation operations.Basic understanding of economic drivers to the business.Apply basic problem-solving techniques to address routine issues** Final pay grade will be determined based on applicant's experience and skills **
