We have an exciting opportunity for a mechanical engineer within the Systems Integration Group. Under general supervision with regular review, this position is responsible for investigation and resolving moderate scope and complexity engineering problems. This position is responsible for providing technical design solutions from obsolescence and manufacturing production support to aircraft avionics integration layouts and cross functional engineering coordination using CAD (Computer-aided design) engineering software. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information, and potential problems to be encountered with work reviewed regularly for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Documents findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to engineering staff. Contacts are primarily internal with infrequent inter-organization or customer contact on routine matters. May provide direction to design or technician staff.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Applies technical knowledge to design, analyze, investigate, and resolve assigned engineering problems utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
+ Utilizes 3D CAD software for theoretical design solutions
+ Performs computer structural analysis validation.
+ May develop prototype mock-ups and perform empirical testing to troubleshoot aircraft integration packaging solutions of equipment and systems.
+ Develops aircraft integration design solutions for assigned structural products and components.
+ Creates mechanical designs and drawings related to component assembly, structural assemblies, mechanisms, and devices.
+ Performs hands-on fit checks for verification and validation as required to ensure design requirements have been met.
+ Obtains and analyzes test data to validate the engineering design intent.
+ Develops the appropriate documentation of findings and implemented design solutions.
+ Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.
+ May provide direction to design and/or technical staff.
+ May represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.
+ Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
+ Provides program development support in addition to production and manufacturing support, on-site as well as at flight operations facilities.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

**Job Qualifications:**
+ Typically requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
+ Aptitude and design experience utilizing 3D CAD engineering software (Pro/E CREO, SolidWorks, or NX).
+ Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
+ Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
+ Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
+ The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
+ Able to work extended hours as required.
+ Working knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
