Mechanical Technician
**Job Title: Assembler** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assembler to join our assembly department. You will be responsible for reading blueprints and assembling parts according to specifications. The parts vary in size, ranging from 1ft long to as large as a railroad car. This role requires a general understanding of assembly and experience using hand tools and power tools. You will be creating a variety of custom parts based on client orders. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. **Responsibilities** + Read and interpret blueprints to assemble parts according to specifications. + Use hand tools and power tools to complete assembly tasks. + Create custom parts based on client orders, ensuring accuracy and quality. + Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as they arise. + Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output. **Essential Skills** + Experience with hand tools and power tools. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Strong mechanical aptitude. + Experience with measuring tools such as calipers, measuring tape, and rulers. + Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. + At least 1 year of experience in assembly or a mechanical role. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with mechanical and electrical assembly. + Knowledge of wiring diagrams and blueprint schematics. + Familiarity with 12V and 24V systems. + Experience with preventive maintenance and automotive repair. + Welding and calibration skills are a plus. + Manufacturing preferred but not required. + Ability to use torque equipment and pneumatic tools. **Why Work Here?** Join a diverse and close-knit team in a laid-back atmosphere where your contributions are valued. The team is large, diverse, and very close-knit. The work atmosphere is laid-back, provided that employees complete their tasks efficiently. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, a hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, long pants, and a professional shirt with no sleeveless shirts allowed. Assemblers will be split between 1st and 2nd shifts, with hours from 6:00am-2:00pm for 1st shift and 2:00pm-10:00pm for 2nd shift, Monday through Saturday. Candidates must be willing and able to stay approximately 2 hours past the official shift end time as needed, with potential for voluntary overtime on Sundays as well. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Columbia, South Carolina. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
