Mechanical Technician
Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description Assemble and test complex mechanical/electrical systems in a cleanroom environment. Support process improvements, engineering testing, lean initiatives, and quality improvements. Responsibilities + Produce products in accordance with established specifications. + Observe and report on regular and ongoing problems that occur in the construction of products or their operation. + Support the solution of these problems and contribute to the improvement of products and processes. + Manufacture and deliver high-level, complex systems according to established procedures. + Solve any technical problems that occur and set an example to other team members. + Oversee the total process from assembly through to test and act as a reference source for problem-solving in the area of expertise. + Actively contribute to the pilot production process and the transition to volume production. + Be responsible for the development and improvement of TPD, processes, records, and other relevant topics. + Investigate the impact of new procedures on the production process before implementation. + Come up with constructive ideas for product improvement. + Acquire sufficient knowledge of new and established products, processes, modifications, sub-modules, and complete systems. + Have an in-depth knowledge of the correlation between the module and the whole system and the relationship with other sub-systems. + Pass on relevant expertise and support good teamwork by seeking solutions and ideas arising from input and the implementation of departmental tasks. + Coordinate activities given in the production plan and monitor the practical situation. + Closely control the use of tools, materials, and equipment. Essential Skills + Blueprint reading + Mechanical skills + Electrical skills + Assembly skills + Lean manufacturing + Engineering + Kaizen + Process improvement + Testing + Prototype development + Hand tool usage + Troubleshooting + Electronics knowledge + Schematic reading + Test equipment usage Additional Skills & Qualifications + AS or BS Degree preferred (Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical) or equivalent experience + Manufacturing internship or co-op experience + Lean Manufacturing Training (e.g., Intro to Lean, 5S, Kaizen, VSM) preferred Work Environment Multiple shifts available: 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, CWW Days D1, CWW Nights N1 & N2. 2nd Shift: 3:00pm to 11:30pm, Mon-Fri with a 10% shift differential. 3rd Shift: 10:00pm to 6:30am, Sun-Thurs with a 15% shift differential. CWW Days D1: Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (6AM to 6PM), Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (every other Wed). CWW Nights: N1: Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (6PM to 6AM), Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (every other Wed). N2: Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday (6PM to 6AM), Week 2: Thursday, Friday, Saturday (every other Wed). Cleanroom environment. Training for all shifts will be 2 weeks on 1st shift, Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm onsite. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
