Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Job Description

This position is for a Mechanical Technician and requires individuals to perform start-to-finish assembly of packaging equipment. Candidates must assemble based on blueprints using hand and power tools and other equipment. The blueprint reading includes identifying dimensions, material type, and utilizing appropriate symbols. Technicians will work in multiple areas of the assembly process, as this is not a cell assembly. The equipment is set up in the shop, and it is large, so technicians will move to different parts of the equipment as needed.

ResponsibilitiesRead, interpret, and understand Assembly Drawings, including materials, views, and assembly order.Read, interpret, and understand Detail Drawings, including length, tolerances, material type, and finish.Independently determine hardware required for assembly build.Utilize drawings to plan assembly and build sequence.Build assemblies, sub-assemblies, and segments of machines.Construct and assist in constructing standalone machines and/or large integrated systems.Properly utilize a variety of power and hand tools for assembly, including wrenches, allen keys, power drills, taps and tap drills, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.Essential SkillsAt least 5 years of experience in a mechanical assembly role in Machine Building, Machine Assembly, or other large piece assembly.Ability to read blueprints and build to prints (dimensions, materials, assembly symbols).Proficient use of hand and power tools.Work Environment

The company has 230 employees and is growing, having merged with another company in 2021. The brand new state-of-the-art facility houses all operations under one roof, including machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, and final testing.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
