Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanisms Engineer to participate in iterative mechanism design improvements based on findings in test and production. This role involves performing tests, leading test teams, and developing testing requirements, materials, processes, and tooling. The engineer will engage in design, analysis, and system trade studies to optimize mechanisms at system and spacecraft levels for workflow simplicity, efficiency, test accommodation, and production speed.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate in iterative mechanism design improvements based on findings in test and production.Perform tests and lead test teams. Develop testing requirements, materials, processes, and tooling (vibration, shock, TVAC, assembly).Participate in and execute design, analysis, and system trade studies to optimize mechanisms at system and spacecraft levels.Provide inputs to Design Engineering to optimize manufacturing flow, cost, and layout.Collect, analyze, and summarize information to provide product and process reports. Solicit observations from operators and technicians.Execute design and analysis using sound engineering principles and adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.Troubleshoot and investigate anomalies and failures, perform root-cause analysis, and provide resolution.Provide manufacturing engineering support to Production.Essential SkillsDegree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.Knowledge/experience of mechanism development and testing for space hardware.Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers.Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of previous experience as an aerospace or similar manufacturing engineer.Work Environment
This position is on-site at a manufacturing clean room in Midland. The role comes with benefits including salary, stipend, relocation assistance, hotel room Elecoverage for 2-3 months, and stock options.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00
Company will provide relocation bonus, stipend, stock units, hotel stay for 2-3 months and bonus potential. Company provides health benefits but no 401K at this time.
