Mechatronics Engineer
Job Summary: The Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for developing and improvement of manufacturing methods and equipment, ensuring all operations and processes are maintained and capable of operating at maximum efficiency. Primary Responsibilities: • Experience working with technology, PLCs/control systems, automation, robotics and/or mechatronics in a manufacturing environment • Providing technical support, troubleshooting and involvement in daily operations to meet operational targets • Identify and select proper materials for mechatronic system designs • Identify areas of weakness in the production line or finished products and make recommendations for improvement • Upgrade the design of existing devices by adding mechatronic elements • Hands on experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems • Develop new or improved manufacturing methods using existing or new equipment • Investigate, recommend, and justify new technologies, manufacturing methods and equipment to meet competitive business needs and improve efficiencies • Analyze and design layout of equipment and workspace ensuring maximum efficiency • Design custom tooling such as fixtures, punches, clamps when required • Document processes and train operators and other personnel • Create and revise documents such as Work Instructions, Training Guides, etc. • Analyze process outputs using statistical methods to ensure stability • Must have proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor software • Initiate and drive systemic improvement activities • Create and maintain technical documentation • Provide advanced technical and hands-on support to production lines and other engineers • Plan and execute statistical methods to drive continuous improvement • Initiate and drive cost reduction activities • Provide support to the Engineering Manager as needed • Must maintain a high-safety and quality consciousness • Other duties as assigned Job Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of related experience • Experience with electronic wiring and electronic system schematics • Proficient in PLC programming and automation integration required • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatic systems required • High volume manufacturing experience preferred • Experience with SPC preferred • High quality customer service (both internal and external) • In-Depth knowledge of advanced manufacturing methods and systems • Excellent mechanical design skills • Proficient in advanced problem-solving skills including statistical analysis • Excellent communications skills (oral & written) **Note**: Due to US Export Control laws and regulations; applicants selected for employment must show proof of a U.S. Person status before employment may begin.
