Mechatronics Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop mechanical systems and components according to project specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical, electrical, and software components integrate seamlessly.
• Apply the principles of mechanics, electronics, and computing to create more efficient and innovative systems.
• Work alongside engineers and other professionals in the development of designs and prototypes for new products and systems.
• Conduct analysis and testing to verify the reliability and performance of mechanical designs.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems.
Additional Duties:
• Design and define state-of-the-art mechanical and electro-mechanical measurement systems.
• Design mechanical systems using SolidWorks/Creo software, incorporating various components such as plastics, metal, sheet metal, compliant materials, etc.
• Perform simulations and analysis to validate designs.
• Translate operational needs into hardware requirements.
• Create and test new or improved designs for large numbers of hardware components.
• Develop creative hardware solutions to complex physical challenges.
• Develop and implement test protocols, test stands, and DOEs to validate design performance.
• Conduct Verification testing: install, test, break and analyze.
• Investigate root causes of failures and implement corrective or preventive actions.
• Support manufacturing and build processes through generation and maintenance of Bill of Materials (BOM) documentation.
• Design tools, jigs, and fixtures for electro-mechanical assembly processes.
• Collaborate with EE’s to design and test PCAs for electro-mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on mechanical designs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and apply them to projects.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field with 5+ years’ experience in electronic device development.
• Proficiency in Creo/SolidWorks CAD software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with tolerance stack-up analyses.
• Experience executing and documenting Design Verification testing for electronic devices.
• Experience executing Reliability Verification testing for electro-mechanical medical devices.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Experience with FEA and CFD tools.
• Proficiency in ECAD design and software development.
• Knowledge of programming languages like C++, Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with ECAD tools like Allegro, Cadence, etc.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Experience in project management.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
