**40046BR** **Extended Job Title:** Med Billing Assoc Supv **Org Level 1:** Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso **Position Description:** This position is responsible for the direction and supervision of Medical Billing Associates and the various aspects of maintenance of patient billing accounts. This position supervises patient registration, insurance follow-up and collection, financial screening of unfunded patients, responses to patient billing inquiries, collection of patient payments, posting of payments and rejections, and other related activities. **Requisition ID:** 40046BR **Optional Attachments:** Transcript **Travel Required:** Up to 25% **Major/Essential Functions:** + Process incoming calls in a timely and professional manner and assist patient walk-in with questions pertaining to accounts. + Obtain third-party insurance information and prepare ETM Customer Service Tasks. + Prepare itemized statements, bankruptcies, affidavits, liens subpoenas on attorney accounts as requested. Review and approve any settlement request from attorneys. + Handle and inform patients of the 10 percent of monthly budget plan on self-pay accounts. Process Phreesia credit card payments + This employee will be responsible to be familiar with Customer Service Cross-Training Implementation for various tasks + Self pay Account Receivable report must be current and worked daily. Also, on Task Manager employee is to review My Follow Up Task Open on a daily basis. Assist refund staff, payment posters, and respond to department calls and emails. + Assist Unit Manager with interviewing potential hires, training staff in billing related updates, updating policy and procedures and other projects as assigned. + Monitor the Avaya phone system daily and run reports monthly to Managing Director. + Supervise customer service agents. Monitor 3 full time employee and one student assistant performance and complete yearly performance evaluations. + Manage monthly the Phreesia Dashboard. + Manage monthly special OCC MED program accounts. + Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). + Personally demonstrate, display and act in accordance with TTUHSC EP's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). + Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution. + Perform all other duties as assigned. **Grant Funded?:** No **Minimum Hire Rate:** Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual **Pay Basis:** Hourly **Work Location:** El Paso **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bilingual Preferred. 4 or more years experience medical billing and collections experience. Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) 3 or more years management/supervisory experience. + Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel, medical practice management software programs, and navigation of insurance provider portals for verification of eligibility and benefits and claims status and appeals. + 5 years medical billing and collections experience. + Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, ability to give presentations and training to TTUHSC personnel as needed, keyboarding skills of at least 40 wpm. + Bachelor Degree in business or 5 years physician billing office experience with at least 2 years supervisory experience. **Campus:** HSC - El Paso **Department:** MPIP Account Quality **Required Attachments:** Cover Letter, Resume / CV **Job Type:** Full Time **Pay Statement:** Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
