Position Summary:
The position of Medical Imaging Informatics Analyst ‐ Level I for Medical Imaging provides a supporting technical role in design, development, implementation, and operational deployment of all current and new information technology relating to modern medical imaging and operations in a digital environment. The Medical Imaging Informatics Analyst will also provide project leadership on small to medium‐scale projects, and will work in close partnership with senior analysts and managers within Medical Imaging and with other IT and Clinical departments to design, evaluate, select, test, implement, and support advanced medical imaging systems.
Education, License & Cert:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Radiologic Technology or related area preferred.
Experience:
• One (1) year of experience in radiology operations in a comparably sized hospital OR three (3) years health care environment experience preferred.
• Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) or eligible (must be completed with two (2) years)
• Strong modality operation background along with workflow knowledge and assessment abilities preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and applications training skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse group of people.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
Essential Functions:
1. Under the direction of the Manager, Medical Imaging Informatics and in close association with analysts, supervisors and managers within Medical Imaging, Information Management, and Clinical Areas, the Analyst is responsible primarily for completing project tasks.
2. Researching, analyzing, and evaluating new technologies and products;
3. Actively participating in and/or leading multi‐disciplinary project teams;
4. Testing, installing, and supporting hardware and software; Assist in the design of working procedures to be implemented during periods of system downtime, Training new staff and maintaining knowledge base, System maintenance Data Integrity and QA
5. Determining and documenting technical and clinical requirements;
6. Assisting with improving clinical and administrative workflow/processes to optimally utilize these advanced systems. Tasks include training, workflow assessment, backup, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring.
7. Works closely with Radiology's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) personnel to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes that include further integration into operations. Implements quality control monitors.
8. Acts as an Applications trainer for Radiology and other departments related to medical imaging initiatives and procedures and assisting with existing or new medical imaging endeavors.
9. Attends and participates in departmental/hospital meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.
10. Assists in ensuring all departments, hospital, Compliance, HIPAA and JCAHO guidelines are met.
11. In addition to applying technical and project management expertise to specific projects, the Analyst will assist in conceiving, designing, and implementing strategies that will enhance the overall productivity and quality of service delivered by the Medical Imaging department. This role will consistently interact with clinical and technical personnel and management, encompassing inter/intra‐departmental employees and outside professionals.
Other Duties:
1. Coordinates with the manager of construction and appropriate IS personnel on location of computers and computer equipment in radiology department.
2. Evaluates, develops, modifies, inputs, and maintains security, dictionaries, and procedures necessary to maintain all Medical Imaging Systems.
3. Monitors and evaluates system security, assigns and deactivates user accounts, assigns functions per role‐based access policy. Also communicates to IS, transfers into and out of Radiology to assure appropriate security in Enterprise systems. Applies and abides by all Guthrie security policies and procedures related to computer systems access and the management of access. Ensures password management protocols are in place and adhered to.
4. Interacts with appropriate personnel to coordinate interface modifications to other Guthrie Information Systems.

7. This Position is Pennsylvania based and any site visits would be to PA sites for emergencies or projects.
