Med Imaging Info Analyst Lvl 2 - Medical Imaging Informatics - Full Time
Position Summary: The position of Medical Imaging Informatics Analyst ‐ Level II for Medical Imaging provides leadership in technical design, development, implementation, and operational deployment of all current and new information technology relating to modern medical imaging operations in a digital environment. The Medical Imaging Informatics Analyst ‐ Level II provides project management for medium to large‐scale projects, and works in partnership with manager in Medical Imaging, Corporate IT and other clinical departments to design, evaluate, select, test, implement, and support advanced medical imaging systems. Education, License & Cert: • Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field Experience: Three (3) years of related experience in radiology operations in a comparably sized hospital setting OR five (5) years in a health care setting • Must possess excellent team, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Must be able to work well in teams and independently, under minimum supervision and guidance and be able to motivate and direct multi‐skilled IS professionals. • Must be able to manage multiple concurrent activities and balance priorities to meet changing requirements and commitments. • Project Management Professional (PMP) or related experience (preferred) • Excellent written/oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse group of people. • Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) (required) • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio • Working knowledge of DICOM and IHE • Working knowledge of HL7 • Demonstrated advanced expertise is required in at least two of the following key areas/applications is required: (1) medical imaging information systems technology (preferred); (2) implementation/integration of HIS/RIS/Imaging systems into a cohesive Electronic Medical Record (preferred); (3) general applications systems design, testing, implementation, and integration (desired); (4) LAN/WAN design, implementation, and support (desired); Essential Functions: Under the direction of the Manager, Medical Imaging Informatics and in close association with analysts, supervisors and managers within Medical Imaging, Information Management, and Clinical Areas, the Analyst is responsible primarily for completing project tasks, including, but not limited to: 1. Requires a division level knowledge of the institution and must function as an information resource and mentor 2. Researching, analyzing, and evaluating new technologies and products; 3. Proposing and documenting recommended solutions; 4. Actively participating in and/or leading multi‐disciplinary project teams; 5. Developing project work plans, reporting project status, updating project work plans, and recommending alternatives for meeting project budgets; 6. Testing, installing, and supporting hardware and software; 7. Developing and documenting system operations and assisting with user training; 8. Determining and documenting technical and clinical requirements; 9. Assisting in preparing RFPs and evaluating vendors proposals; 10. Analyzing and documenting proposed projects business case, technical alternatives, and expected impacts; 11. assessment, backup, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring. 12. Works closely with the Manager, Medical Imaging Informatics in the development of operating standards, policies and procedures, and training programs. Reviews feedback from system users and compile and analyzes support data and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate. 13. Works closely with Radiology's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) personnel to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes that include further integration into operations. Implements quality control monitors. 14. Attends and participates in departmental/hospital meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence. 15. Assists in ensuring all departments, hospital, Compliance, HIPAA and JCAHO guidelines are met. Other Duties: 1. Coordinates with the manager of construction and appropriate IS personnel on location of computers and computer equipment in radiology department. 2. Evaluates, develops, modifies, inputs, and maintains security, dictionaries, and procedures necessary to maintain all Medical Imaging Systems. 3. Monitors and evaluates system security, assigns and deactivates user accounts, assigns functions per role‐based access policy. Also communicates to IS, transfers into and out of Radiology to assure appropriate security in Enterprise systems. Applies and abides by all Guthrie security policies and procedures related to computer systems access and the management of access. Ensures password management protocols are in place and adhered to. 4. Interacts with appropriate personnel to coordinate interface modifications to other Guthrie Information Systems. 5.
