1. Performs testing in a timely manner.
2. Demonstrates the ability to set priorities.
3. Completes work assigned during shift and leaves minimal amount for next shift.
4. Maintains standards in ER, timed, and STAT testing.
5. Responds to changes in work as necessary; continually uses time to departmental advantage.
6. Writes legibly and accurately, with complete documentation.
7. Documents quality control procedures performed.
8. Maintains clean and safe working environment.
9. Completes all work during shift without sacrificing quality of care.
10. Verifies the name of tube or specimen with requisition and investigates abnormal results.
11. Documents preventive maintenance performed.
12. Ensures that supplies are available and notifies appropriate personnel when low.
13. Practices and supports safety in the workplace.
14. Consults with appropriate personnel when test findings are abnormal and when difficulties are encountered in testing.
15. Correlates test results with diagnoses, and questions incompatible results.
