Demonstrates skill at written and oral communications including taking minutes at meetings and relating to physicians and allied health professionals regarding their applications for initial privileges, reappointments and/or temporary privileges. Possess organization and communication skills. Maintains emotional stability and calm disposition, and has ability to relate positively with all levels of professionals. Has ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions. Possesses willingness to improve. Loyal, reliable, tactful, honest and discreet maintaining confidentiality at all times. Exhibits professional appearance. Must be able to carry out specific assignments to successful conclusion. Has ability to problem solve and make decisions ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Processes, maintains and updates Physicians' and Allied Health Professionals' (AHP) credential files. Ensures that Physicians' and AHPs' licensure and malpractice insurance coverage are current. Maintains meeting minutes of the various Medical Staff and Board meetings. Assist Director of Business Development/Marketing and Administration in Physician recruitment activities. Initiates, oversees, verifies, compiles, manages, and maintains confidential research required for credentials of initial appointees (Physicians, Dentists, Podiatrists, Allied Health Professionals) applying to the staff. Follows legal, State and Federal Agency, State Licensing Board, and JCAHO guidelines and/or regulations. Completes in a timely manner according to guidelines outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws. Prepares and reports all research and forwards to department chairpersons, Medical Staff committees and to the Board of Governors for review and action. Initiates, oversees, administers, verifies, compiles, manages, and maintains confidential research required for continuous credentialing/reappointment. Oversees and assures compliance of selected Medical Staff meetings as assigned (Credentialing Committee, MEC, and Bylaws Committee). Attends selected Medical Staff meetings and provides guidance, resources and support to Medical Staff Officers, committee and department chairpersons. Develops agendas, consults with department chairpersons/officers prior to meetings. Maintains documentation of minutes. Assures follow -up action is taken as dictated by the meeting minutes. Qualifications Associates Degree required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and public relations skills. Knowledge of PC based software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint). Ability to interface with individuals at all levels. Demands require working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
