Med Surg /ICU Technician Full Time

Job Title:  ICU Medical/Surgical Tech                                                     Department:  Intensive Care Unit

Reports to: Director of Intensive Care Unit                                          Revision Date: 10/10/23

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the ICU Clinical Director, or their designee, perform various duties assisting in the care and treatment of Intensive Care Unit patients, their families, and visitors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

As an ICU Technician your main job focus is to assist the nurses and providers in the care of our patients by preforming the following duties:

Assisting patients with activities of daily living Assisting with turning and repositioning Obtaining blood glucoses Assist in maintaining patient safety Restocking and maintaining supplies Answering phones and directing phone calls Effectively interacting and communicating with patients, families, and staff Printing needed paperwork and maintain patient’s charts Transporting patient to different areas of the hospital Prepare reports and statistics as assigned Preforming CPR as directed Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities (Unit Specific):

Basic knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices preferred. Proficient in typing and basic computer knowledge required. Strong communication skills. Ability to multi task. Abie to prioritize tasks in a fast pace environment. 

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED is required. Previous patient care experience strongly preferred.  Current CPR preferred.

Working Conditions:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.  Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting up to fifty (50) pounds, Assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds, fine motor skills, visual acuity.

Pay Range:  $16.65-$19.98/hr

Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
