ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Assist Racing Department with all On Air updates before each race, eventually being able to take on all on air updates for each shift. Assist racing commentator with on-air appearances, audio visual support, set-up needs, etc. Conduct interviews and get quotes from participants for press releases Compile information and complete written stories for industry media outlets and social media platforms Conduct backstretch tours and assist special groups to the winner’s circle; aid with set-up, greeting, and other needs of on-track entertainment and related activities Flexible and willing to cross-train in other departments associated with racing, including but not limited to audio visual, racing operations, casino marketing, mutuels, relationship marketing, human resources, etc. No duties will be assigned in the confines of the casino or any casino-based activities governed by the Ohio Lottery Commission. Perform all duties assigned as needed in support of racing operations. Duties could increase based on capabilities of individual interns. Required to work on Special nights.  Specific dates are July 5th, August 1st and 2nd September 6th.  Interns will be permitted to work on Kentucky Derby weekend (May 3rd). Manage all racing sites on social media.      Responsibilities include posting updates about races and pre-race info including odds, picks, etc. Create Content for social media.  This includes Live Video updates and Graphics for posting track promotions and racing preparation. Assist with on track promotions and run social media giveaways. Being available to take on other on-air duties as necessary.

 

 

 

 

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

 

Previous experience giving reports via live on-air broadcast or recorded streaming broadcasts. Previous experience managing a social media platform with consistent updates and reactions. Excellent communication skills. Canva experience is preferred but not required.  Must be able to stand/walk/ sit for extended periods. May be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment.  Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing.  Must be able to pass a background investigation. 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
