The Role: 

The Media Planning Manager is responsible for the promotional strategy across ANZ for a portfolio of television channels and a digital product across Australia and New Zealand. This includes subscription television across both regions, and free to air channels and a free streaming service in New Zealand. This role leads a team of high output Senior Media Planners and Media Planners.  

This role is the crucial bridge between many departments and excellent communication both written and verbal and stakeholder relationship skills are non-negotiable. A strong understanding of data analysis is an advantage, and a history of people management is required.  

As a global media business, this role will require regular communication with international colleagues in the APAC region. Flexible working hours will be required due to the 24/7 nature of broadcast television across multiple time zones.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

Lead a team of high output Senior Media Planners and Media Planners.  

Lead the promotional strategy across all our platforms in both TV and digital.  

Manage the Promo Makelist to ensure a balance between content needs, resource, and available inventory.  

Ensure all campaigns meet the Media Planning metric goals.  

Manage all NZOA funding submissions, Warner Bros. Discovery Movies and Contra campaigns.  

Use data to maximise audience reach and retention across our platforms.  

Communicate and mitigate any campaign issues that may arise and be willing to adapt to the ever-changing environment of media.  

Be a thought leader in the use of our promotional space and recommend assets that engage and excite our audiences. 

Provide post campaign analysis on an ad hoc basis.  

Conduct benchmarking and audience analysis to ensure we run at an optimal level.  

Manage relationships between all departments and ensure a smooth workflow. 

Be ready and willing to process changes due unforeseen circumstances outside of office hours.  

Be willing to conduct media planning duties in high output periods.  

 

Qualifications & Experience required:  

 

Advance knowledge and skills in Media scheduling, optimisation and data tools (Experience in IBMS, GripIt and TechEdge highly regarded). 

Experienced in people management across multiple countries.  

Current knowledge of TV and digital streaming landscape in either Australia or New Zealand is essential. 

Have an affinity with data and understanding how to run complex analysis based on stakeholder queries.  

Excellent communication and presentation skills.  

Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple regions.  

Expert in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software; e, g. Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
