POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:   


This is a full-time, AFT position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.  Note: This position is in the “NL” category of employment (non-fixed work week) An AFT- NL professional staff member or librarian who is required to work beyond 35 hours shall be compensated through compensatory time off. Compensatory time shall be earned for hours worked beyond the normal work week, or on an employee’s regular day off, if requested and approved by their supervisor.

AFT - U 21 - Steps 1 - 4
$61,674.62 - $70,933.32
Internal Applicant Salary is based upon Union Contract Negotiations

JOB SUMMARY:


This individual, under the direction of the Director of ITS Media Services, provides the support necessary to assure the completion of timely and accurate Media equipment reservations and, in addition, respond to real time requests for assistance. These activities require an understanding of applications such as RESS, Reschedule and Liberum Help Desk. She/he will make recommendations in response to internal and external requests. This individual must have experience with a/v and computer configurations found in both fixed and transportable media systems throughout the campus and have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems that may arise relative to these systems.

DUTIES:


Monitors the work of students and/or staff, identifies problem areas and makes suggestions for improvement.Consults with the supervisor concerning problems encountered in the work; makes recommendations for resolution.Establishes liaison and coordinates activities with other staff or organizations that relate to or impact on assigned responsibilities.Attends and participates in meetings or college events related to assigned responsibilities.Compiles and analyzes statistical, financial and other data.Prepares user documentation for the use of fixed and transportable media systems.Maintains essential records and files.Counsels and advises students, student organizations and/or committees; assists in identifying and utilizing available resources.Provides access to and/or develop and implements training, seminars and workshops for students and/or staff.Monitors equipment and/or supply inventories.Participates in planning, scheduling, and implementing program events.Maintains and provides department website and publicationsUpdate and maintain ReSched application as per vendor specifications.Participates in the selection of and supervises subordinate staff including clerical, part-time and/or student workers.May serve on standing and ad hoc committees.Performs other duties as assigned by management.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


This position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of Audio/Visual equipment. Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills, with strong customer focus. Be willing to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and deal with confidential and sensitive matters in a professional manner. Willing to work night shifts when necessary.



Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:


Education


Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree.


Experience


Two years professional experience in an institution of higher education or in education, higher education or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis (30 credit hours is considered one year of college.)
