Our client, a healthcare facility, is seeking a Medicaid Coordinator and Pre-Admissions Interviewer to join their team. As a Medicaid Coordinator and Pre-Admissions Interviewer, you will be part of the admissions team supporting the facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
**Job Title:** Medicaid Coordinator and Pre-Admissions Interviewer
**Location:** Montrose, NY
**Pay Range:** $30.00/hr.
**What's the Job?**
+ Conduct financial interviews for all potential residents with their family and other responsible parties to determine their pay source; (Private Pay, Medicaid eligible, 70% to 100% Service Connected Disabled, LTC Health Insurance, CBLTC Medicaid Insurance or Medicaid Managed plans).
+ Hand out pertinent checklists for those Medicaid eligible residents and/or detail short term/long term Private Pay schedules and obtain signatures for the facility NH Payment Agreement.
+ Complete, submit and follow up the Medicaid applications and conversions with the various NYS Dept. of Social Services, which also includes submitting necessary NAMI changes.
+ Oversee submission of all annual Medicaid recertification and complete those when families are resistant.
+ Work with our Resident Funds Manager to initiate monthly income change of address.
+ Identify and troubleshoot problem cases for referrals to the Office of the NYS Attorney General.
+ Prepare and update monthly report by the resident's Admission date detailing their pay source and current status of the Medicaid applications.
+ Update log of all Medicaid resident's Annual Recertification date to ensure continuation of their eligibility.
+ Answer emails and voicemails concerning everything related to resident finances, which also includes contact with Elder Care lawyers.
+ Attend informational Medicaid update conferences hosted by County Dept. of Social Services and Elder Care Lawyer firms.
**What's Needed?**
+ Minimum of 5-10 years of experience doing this type of work in a nursing home.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
