Job Title: Medical Abstractor/Medical Assistant

Job Description

This is a 3-4 month contract role for a Medical Abstractor. The Medical Abstractor/Medical Assistant will be responsible for transferring patient files via scanning and electronic transfer from an older EMR system into EPIC. This is a non-patient-facing role and requires strong administrative skills and familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems.

ResponsibilitiesTransfer patient files from an older EMR system into EPIC via scanning and electronic transfer.Handle the transfer of various types of records including medication history, medical and surgical history, social history, family history, breathing/respiratory tests, and radiology reports.Process approximately 30-40 records per day.Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.Essential SkillsExperience as a Medical Assistant requiredStrong familiarity with medical terminologyExperience with EMR systemsProficiency in using EPIC preferredAttention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious abstraction experience is a plusFamiliarity with medical chartsCertified Medical Assistant certification is not required but beneficialWork Environment

This position involves working at a desk in an office setting. The role offers the opportunity to learn and work with EPIC, a highly marketable EMR system.

Schedule Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00
