Job Title: Medical Administrative Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our healthcare providers by managing patient appointments, handling clinical phone messages, acquiring insurance authorizations, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice and providing exceptional care to our patients.

ResponsibilitiesSchedule appointments for patients.Take detailed clinical phone messages for physicians or advanced allied healthcare providers.Acquire insurance authorizations for procedures and tests ordered by attending physicians.Enter orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system or prepare prescription refill requests for physician review and approval.Maintain logging system for tracking test results.Assist in maintaining medical charts and electronic medical records, including filing, organizing test results, and preparing home care forms.Schedule surgeries or procedures, verify times with patients, prepare charts, and manage pre-admissions and consent forms.Perform Medical Assistant duties if qualified, including venipuncture, EKGs, organizing patient flow, assisting patients, and processing specimens.Retrieve and edit physician correspondence from dictation services.Prepare physicians' mail correspondence.Compile documents for surgical billing packages.Maintain, adjust, and confirm patient office schedules.Help direct patient flow during practice hours.Participate in revenue cycle processes.Perform medical scribe responsibilities.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills3 years of administrative or medical office experience.College degree.Medical Assistant (MA) diploma.Proficiency in administrative support and customer service.Strong clerical skills including filing and front desk management.Experience with Microsoft Office applications.Calendar management and data entry skills.Excellent communication and computer skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in healthcare or medical settings.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to greet and assist patients professionally.Proficiency in answering phones and managing patient inquiries.Work Environment

You will be working in the Heart Care Services department. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
