Job Title: Medical Assembler $20/HR- $23/HR

Job Description

In this role as a Pilot Operator, you will work at the R&D facility focusing on prototype assemblies and helping to build new product lines. You will collaborate directly with engineers and technicians to build and improve the lines. This position involves working both in the cleanroom and outside of it. Candidates will start in the packaging and testing area to gain familiarity with different parts and processes. Training will include operating a vertical reflow machine used for coating parts. Cross-training in various areas such as assembly/operating, grinding, and lab work will be provided.

ResponsibilitiesPerform prototype assembly and testing.Work with hand tools such as tweezers, pliers, crimpers, and screwdrivers.Train in soldering and light welding of parts.Utilize microscopes for detailed work.Operate automatic and semi-automatic machines, including flattener and reflow machines.Set up and operate a small injection mold press.Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve processes and troubleshoot issues.Use grinding machines and deburr parts in the grinding area.Utilize computers for work processes and documentation.Perform lab work including welding with machines and using microscopes for inspections.Use vision systems and measuring tools for inspections.Essential Skills4+ years of medical assembly experience.Experience working with R&D departments and engineers.Proficiency in using microscopes.Ability to troubleshoot and multi-task.Additional Skills & QualificationsComfortable with cross-training and learning multiple processes.Initiative and proactive attitude.Technically savvy and comfortable with technology and computers.Ability to help find new ideas and ways to improve processes.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This new facility, built within the last 5 years, involves working both in and outside of the cleanroom, as well as in lab areas. The team typically consists of around 10-15 people, including management, leads, assemblers, engineers, and technicians. The environment is well-lit, open, and temperature-controlled, with some areas containing machines. While not overly loud, candidates should be comfortable working around machinery. This is an R&D site focused on building and optimizing initial lines for the manufacturing site. The facility is clean, organized, and continuously expanding.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fridley, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.25 - $22.25/hr.
