. Major Responsibilities:1. Provides patient care by assisting with the implementation of care plans.
2. Interviews patients to obtain information and measure their vital signs, weight, height, etc.
3. Prepares room and chart for visit, ensures treatment rooms keeping them clean and properly stocked.
4. Completes releases of information (ROI) as needed.
5. Reconciles medications.
6. Automates and perform processes by phone or send letters to patients either overdue for medical care or out of compliance with the goals of their care.
7. Informs the care team if a patient is out of compliance consistently.
8. Meets regularly with multi-disciplinary care team to help create plans for specific patients and populations not achieving optimal care.
9. Works with other care teams on quality improvement measures and process designs.
10. Assists with Prior Authorizations.
11. Helps organize and keep track of Clozaril clients and groups.
12. Performs case management care coordination.
13. Performs basic office laboratory procedures such as urinalysis, throat cultures and related procedures.
14. Performs a variety of clerical duties such as typing, filing, scheduling appointments, making phone calls and other related job duties as required or directed.
15. Maintains records, reports, reports, logs and other statistical information as required or directed.
Specialty Responsibilities:
OBAT Medical Assistant:
1. Completes required data entry for BSAS, track enrollment, follow up, level, and disenrollment status of patients, and do (drug overdose) toxicology screens.
Open Access Medical Assistant:
1. Performs triage of the behavioral health and/or medical needs of adults.
2. Performs administrative triage including insurance eligibility and appropriate provider availability.
3. Works collaboratively as a member of the clinic’s multi-disciplinary open access teams to coordinate the delivery of appropriate clinical and medical services.
4. Regularly attends clinic staff meetings, clinical team, supervision and all other required program meetings.
5. Prepares and maintain confidential client documentation, service records, and preparation of statistical reports. Request authorizations for continued treatment sessions.
6. Maintains data on open access activities.
7. Maintains open access caseload.

Required:
Medical Assistant-I: Grade C02- HSD or equivalent and Certification in Medical Assisting Medical Assistant-II: Grade C04- Certification in Medical Assisting required and Associates degree in Medical Assisting or Bachelor’s degree or higher. Satisfactory CORI background check. Driving is not a requirement.Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
