We deliver endocrinology and diabetes care in an outpatient setting located on the Newton-Wellesley Hospital main campus (20000 Washington Street in the White building, Suite 546 in Newton, MA). Our endocrinologists help people with diabetes and hormonal disorders successfully manage their conditions. Patients receive state-of-the-art diabetes treatment through our team’s advanced and effective techniques.

Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant II to support our team Monday through Friday onsite. We are open to this Medical Assistant working 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm. Our Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to clinical support, the Medical Assistant ensures a smooth patient flow within the practice and assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician or advanced practitioner.Our Medical Assistants are trained to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the multidisciplinary care team.
We have a close-knit collaborative team of Medical Assistants who are passionate about endocrinology and diabetes. Our medical assistant team works on a rotating provider model with our team of 12 providers. Responsibilities:
- Coordinates pre-visit paperwork and preparation including addressing the special needs of patients (i.e. comfort measures, communication, and other appropriate issues),
- Escorts patients to the exam rooms and take vital signs.
- Patient services are both clinical and non-clinical in nature and include direct patient care activities such as obtaining vital signs, blood pressures, rooming patients, downloading diabetic glucometers, prescription refills requests, prescription PAs and front desk functions including scheduling appointments, appointment check in, check out, collecting copays, appointment confirmations, referral requests scanning and other non-clinical tasks as necessary - Provides assistance to providers with office procedures.
- Cleans and restocks exam rooms.
- Maintains the strictest confidentiality of any and all patient records including but not limited to treatment, diagnosis, history, medication, and financial status.
- Provides and/or coordinates the delivery of a variety of patient services under the direction of the physician, Triage RN or practice manager.
- Provides POC testing, including fingerstick testing and eye exams - Interacts with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel. Must possess strong clinical, interpersonal and communication skills

Required:
High School diploma/GEDEither BLS or Annual Manikin training including CPR and AED after 6 months of hire
