For a complete description of our benefits for this position, **click here.** **This recruitment offers a $5,000 Signing Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine** **UW Medical Center-Northwest - Multiple Sclerosis Center** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).** **WORK SCHEDULE** + Part-time, 50% FTE (20 hours per week) + Day Shift **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS** + Conveniently located near public transportation + Make a difference for the patients and employees we serve + Opportunity to provide career growth **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** The Multiple Sclerosis Center at UW Medical Center - Northwest in Seattle is an award-winning specialty center where a team of expert providers addresses patients’ individual needs, including accurate diagnosis, differentiation of MS from other mimicking conditions (for instance, neuromyelitis optica, optic neuritis, transverse myelitis), treatment, rehabilitation and symptom management for optimal outcome and well-being. **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES** + Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records + Perform injections and phlebotomy + Prepare and clean exam rooms + Submit medication prior authorizations + Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider + Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers + Assist provider with procedures and medical exams + Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values + Assist in transporting patients as required **REQUIREMENTS** + Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent + Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire.
