Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor

Status: Contingent (Must be able to pick up a minimum of 3 shifts per month)

Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Position Purpose:

The Workplace Health Medical Assistant, under the direction and supervision of the Clinic manager or a Practitioner, prepares incoming and current team members for their pre-employment screening or follow-up care.   Assists practitioners/providers with procedures and processes specimens according to established procedures. Performs in-office testing at direction of practitioner/provider e.g. EKG's, vision testing, strep tests, urinalysis injections, immunizations, etc.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalencySuccessful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant (clinical) program or a minimum of 2 years of clinical medical assistant work experience in a fast-paced office setting

What you will do:

Reviews patient medical record to assure that all needed test results, forms and reports are available to physician/provider.Assists physicians/providers with procedures and processes specimens according to established procedures. Performs in-office testing at direction of physician/provider e.g. urinalysis, suture removals, injections, immunizations, etc.Arranges patient hospital admissions and test scheduling.Assures that clinical areas and drug sample areas are maintained according to Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.Maintains exam rooms to ensure supplies are present and that room and equipment is in working order and in clean condition.
