We are looking for a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Endocrinology office in Zephyrhills.  This position is responsible for assisting providers and manages clinical functions in the department. Must have attended a MA school or been a MA for 2 years. Bilingual a plus but not required

Keys to Success in this Role:

Completes the start of day processes Properly room patients Takes and records vitals Assists provider during examination and with treatment Performs diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider Performs EKGs as needed Enters charges for services rendered by the medical assistant Processes medication requests per provider Handles medication refill requests Obtains prescription overrides and prior authorization when needed Manages clinical tasks Handles patient calls: Distributes, reviews, and teaches patient education Organizes and maintains sample and supply closets Assists provider with completion of forms requested by patients Prepares charts Completes the end of day processes

Job Qualifications:

High school graduate or GED equivalent Completion of Medical Assistant program Medical Assistant Certification preferred Able to multitask Strong team player Basic computer proficiency Strong customer service orientation 2 years medical experience in an office setting
Phlebotomy skills required

Physical and Mental Demands:

Physical requirements Able to stand or walk for long periods Use of proper body mechanics Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making High level verbal and written communication skills Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 

Occupational Exposure:

High risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
