40 Hours/Week, Monday to Friday ONLY | 8:00am - 5:30pm

Job DescriptionControls flow of clinic.Provides patient teaching.Sends in prescriptions.Places referrals as ordered at the time of visit and tasks office nurse with the referral.Places lab orders and gives them to patients at checkout, logging orders for tracking.Notates radiology orders that need to be scheduled and logs them for tracking.Coordinates surgery scheduling with scheduler, prints lab orders, goes over packets with patients, provides instructions, and logs surgeries scheduled.Sends tasks to office nurse for items that cannot be done in clinic (e.g., additional patient records, FMLA paperwork).Performs scanning as able, contributing to efficiency.Sets up and assists with minor in-office procedures.Processes instruments.Provides office nurse with end-of-day log summary: new surgery patients/dates, referrals needing scheduling, paperwork packets, and other follow-up items.

Hard Skills6 months to 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant and/or surgery schedulerCertification or Registration as a Medical Assistant is required!Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Norfolk, Virginia.

Work EnvironmentHours: 8:00am - 5:00pm or until the last patient is seen. Monday - Friday. Weekends off. No HolidaysThe practice includes various Physicians specializing in different areas of ENTAbout Actalent
