Job Title: Medical Assistant Job Description Located in Westchester County, NY, we are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide direct patient assistance in an outpatient clinic serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Responsibilities + Arrange prescription refills, prior authorizations, and pre-certifications as needed. + Participate in primary care pre-visit planning by identifying applicable preventative health measures. + Flag and follow up on overdue labs, imaging, and consultations. + Acquire outstanding medical documentation and manage patient correspondence with the provider and care team. + Document and scan comprehensive health assessment items in the electronic medical record. + Document immunizations, screenings, medical, familial, and social history including cultural and personal preferences, and behaviors affecting health. Essential Skills + Medical assisting + Customer service + Electronic health record management + Prior authorization + Taking patient vitals + Clinical and administrative experience + Medical Assistant Certification (NHA or AAMA) Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma + Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Certificate Program + Registered (RMA) or Certified CMA (must be active) + CPT or RPT preferred + EKG Certification preferred + 1 year of experience in a healthcare outpatient setting + Experienced in the care of individuals with developmental disabilities preferred Work Environment The position offers a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with no evenings or weekends and a 1-hour lunch break. The workweek totals 35 hours. The clinical floor team includes a Nurse Manager, 3 lead medical assistants, and 1 Phlebotomist. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, with the company covering 75-80% of the cost.
