Job DescriptionAs a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing top-of-the-line care to patients. Your duties will include assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, preparing surgical trays, administering medications, and educating patients. You will ensure all medications are prepared as needed, provide wound care, document laboratory results, and maintain a clean and well-stocked exam room. Compliance with OSHA standards regarding PPE is mandatory.
ResponsibilitiesReview consent forms.Assist the physician in completing examinations and procedures.Prepare surgical trays for procedures.Ensure all medications are drawn up as needed.Provide wound care and suture removal instructions to patients.Provide patient education and administer medications as ordered.Ensure patient follow-up phone calls are made regarding path/lab results and other necessary treatments.Document all laboratory or pathology results in patients' records.Clean medical instruments and equipment.Stock exam rooms with supplies.Return patient phone calls.Essential SkillsCertified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification.1-3 years of Medical Assisting Experience.Ability to comply with OSHA standards regarding PPE (gowns, gloves, safety goggles) when performing surgical procedures and other general patient care.Additional Skills & QualificationsDermatology or surgical experience is preferred but not necessary.Experience working in another fast-paced specialty (e.g., OBGYN, Orthopedics, surgery, dermatology).Ability to transition skills from other specialties.Work Environment
The practice operates from 7:30am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, and closes at 4pm on Fridays. There are no major holidays or weekend shifts.
